Location – Kingston, Tennessee
Two contracts included installing 88 drilled shafts, ranging in diameter from 60” to 90” and depths from 37’ to 57’ through saturated sandy clay soils. In restricted access areas, micropiles were used. Approximately 68 micropiles were installed to support loads up to 400 kips in tension and compression. To verify micropile design, 4 pile load tests were performed.
