Ninety four micropiles were designed and installed. They are approximately 90 feet long, 150 ton capacity, with a 9-5/8 inch diameter permanent casing drilled 15 feet into the sandstone bedrock.
Headroom and access were restricted, requiring the welding of the permanent casing in lengths from 3 to 10 feet.
Materials and equipment had to be worked between machinery, ductwork and utilities. Twenty-four piles were installed on varying batters within the pilecaps. These piles were grouted under pressure prior to rebar placement.
